We’ve finished with our study of Gospel of Mark, and have 5 weeks before Thanksgiving breaks our study. So, let’s move to 1 Thessalonians– a letter of Paul filled with thanksgiving and hope.
Come when you can … don’t worry about ‘intruding’. The prayers and the study are intended to give us opportunity for fellowship and growth, and are informal!
During worship on the weekend of October 15th and 16th, we’ll have a dedication of the (continually growing) Prayer Garden to the west of the church garage. The bricks have been laid (thanks, Wednesday Weeders!) and the mural painted (thanks Dave, Cindy, Bob, Kristin, Coleen). Still to be added: a pergola and prayer statue (approx. cost: $1500 each).
There will be a dessert reception following the Saturday evening service, and a baked potato bar after Sunday’s 11 a.m. service. A free will offering will go towards the sculpture for the garden.
Following the 11:00 service – Soup will be furnished – Bring different kinds of bread – muffins- etc. We will learn how to make Communion Bread!! All women are welcome!!
Summer Service Hours Continue through September 11th. God’s Work Our Hands Sunday. After our 10:00 worship at Family of Christ we are invited to bring potluck items to First Lutheran, share in lunch together, and then participate in a Mosaic Worship Service with individuals from Axtell and Kearney (about 1:15 pm).
You may decide to stay and help with a park cleanup activity with some Mosaic individuals from Kearney.
